Services to Professionals and Organisations
I currently offer:
Consultation
Supervision
Coaching
Video Interaction Guidance
Bespoke Assessment and Intervention Packages
Organisations can also commission any of my direct services to parents and carers for the families that they support.
I understand the increasing demands placed on organisations—from meeting complex needs, to supporting staff wellbeing and ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people.
I offer a collaborative, capacity building model of Educational Psychology Services. I work with you to enhance learning and wellbeing, for children and adults, at the individual, group and whole system level.
Consultation
Consultation is more than just a conversation. It involves a structured partnership and is a dedicated time and space to address specific systemic or individual challenges. Through the consultation process, we will gain an understanding of the problem being faced, areas of strength to build on and develop an actionable plan for positive change. Consultation builds competence and confidence in the adults responsible for supporting the child or group.
For individuals - finding clarity within complexity
I can work with staff on a 1:1 or group basis to support thinking and problem solving within their role. Staff may be experiencing challenges with learning, behaviour or emotions for individual children. Consultation will provide a space to unpick what is happening to develop a deeper understanding of what is happening for the child and provide bespoke steps forward.
For groups - working efficiently, maximising impact
I can work with staff to consider the needs of groups of children and identify ways to work through presenting challenges. Examples include class groups experiencing difficulties with social relationships and general behavioural concerns.
For organisations - sustainable, systemic change
I can collaborate with key stakeholders to consider the needs of your organisation using psychological theories of organisational change and systems thinking. We will develop achievable action plans, and I will support you to implement changes sustainably.
My consultation approach draws upon:
narrative therapy
coaching psychology
person-centred approaches
systemic working
solution orientated approaches and positive psychology
Consultation will typically take 1 to 1.5 hours.
A written record of the key points and agreed action plan will be provided.
Supervision
Building capacity and enhancing practice
Supervision provides a reflective, confidential space for professionals to process the emotional and ethical complexities of their work and enhance their practice. This is different to line management or managerial supervision. My role is to bring psychological theory and expertise to our reflective relationship, helping to contain any difficult emotions and facilitate a deeper understanding of the dynamics at hand, providing insight that helps you to move situations forward.
Supervision can be for individuals or groups. It should occur on a regular basis, so that we can review actions taken between sessions and consider next steps.
Supervision will enhance your work with the children, young people and families that you serve by facilitating reflective practice and supporting your own wellbeing as a practitioner.
Supervision will typically take 1 to 1.5 hours each session. Session frequency can be negotiated, typically occurring once per half term.
A written record of the key points and agreed action plan will be provided.
Coaching
Coaching is a personalised, goal-oriented service that is tailored to you. I can support you to:
clarify your goals and preferred story
reflect on your strengths and values
co-construct your next steps
implement and sustain change
I currently offer coaching sessions to individuals. I offer a none-judgemental, supportive relationship to help you work toward what is important to you. I will listen and ask questions that are intended to facilitate thinking and generate new insights.
Coaching conversations will typically take 1 to 1.5 hours each session. You can opt for a single session or package of sessions depending on your needs.
A written record of the key points and agreed action plan will be provided following each session.
Video Interaction Guidance (VIG)
VIG is a strengths-based, brief intervention with a strong evidence base. It promotes attunement and works to enhance communication within important relationships.
VIG can be used with individuals or groups of professionals to support you in your work with clients. It can be particularly useful for relationships that feel strained or you feel unsure about your impact.
VIG uses micro-analysis of short video clips of successful interactions between the professional and their client (e.g. child, class or parent). By focusing on these moments of positive communication, VIG increases the professionals’ self-awareness and confidence in their existing relational skills. This naturally strengthens the relationship in focus.
Organisations can also commission my VIG services directly for families.
How Does VIG Work?
Filming: We use a camera to film short, ordinary interactions (around 5–10 minutes) between you and your target client.
Reviewing Success: As your VIG guider I carefully review the footage and select very short clips (usually 3–4 clips) where the interaction is flowing particularly well.
Shared Review: We watch these positive clips together. I guide your attention to specific, successful actions you are already taking.
Building Confidence: By focusing on moments of success, VIG helps you clearly see what is working. This builds your awareness, self-worth, and self-efficacy.
You can read more about VIG on the Association of Video Interaction Guidance website, here.
VIG involves:
Initial consultation: 1 hour
VIG cycle (including film, editing and 1 hour shared review ): 2 hours
3 VIG cycles are usually recommended for optimal intervention.
Review and action plan: 1 hour
Total for complete VIG intervention, including 3 VIG cycles: 8 hours
